if you have an emergency situation or need any information about ferrets. We currently do not have any ferrets looking for foster or adoptive homes.
We were officially licensed in the state of New Hampshire as a shelter for ferrets in 2007 into 2008. Our initial inspection went wonderfully and we are happy to share that we had no problems whatsoever and received compliments on the ferret accommodations and cleanliness of the entire area! A second inspection before our move to Texas was also completed without issue.
In the coming days be sure to check back for lots of information about our mission to become a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. In the mean time, any questions can be emailed to the rescue director,

We were originally a registered non-profit corporation in the state of New Hampshire, and hope to be pursuing federal non-profit status when we are able.
If you have a ferret who isn't getting enough attention, is in bad shape, needs behavioral help, or just needs a new home, please

Our goal is to help as many ferrets and ferret lovers as possible. We are always happy to talk about ferret husbandry, rescue or the like, as education is the most important aspect in improving the lives of pet ferrets.
Also, if you find a ferret outside, be careful. If you wish to try to pick it up, we advise using heavy gloves to avoid bites. Any animal outside could potentially carry diseases that could be dangerous to you. For tips, please contact your local Animal Control or contact Rebecca at 603-261-5068. We are in the process of purchasing Havaheart traps to lend out to people who have lost ferrets outside or who have seen ferrets outside and wish to rescue them.
We also are always in the red: every ferret we take in is fed, cared for, housed and vetted primarily out of the pockets of the director and other board members. If you are able to contribute, even just a little, it would be a great help.
WE ARE AN ADV FREE SHELTER. Please consider testing your ferret for ADV and being careful to only allow him or her to play with ADV negative ferrets. The disease is easily tested for - but if your ferret contracts it, there's not much you can do!
Our Mission:
In general, we want to see that
- Every ferret has a clean, safe home
- Every ferret gets the veterinary care required to be legal and healthy
- Every ferret gets sufficient daily out-of-cage time
- Ferret owners are educated about the needs of ferrets BEFORE they become owners
- Ferret nutrition improves - feeding grocery store cat food just doesn't cut it!
Our wish list for "someday":
- No more mass produced ferrets created wtihout regard to breeding for health and longevity
- ADV (Aleutian Disease Virus) disappears from ferret populations.
- Conscientious laws regarding ferrets - allowing ownership but restricting breeding to those with the knowledge and facilities to do it properly
- Knowledgeable people working together to breed healthier ferrets
- Breeders who start their kits on raw meat and/or whole prey diets and encourage their buyers to continue.
- No more ferrets in pet stores. Ever.
My rule number one of rescue is take care of yourself. You can't take care of others if you're not taking care of yourself. Rule number two is give what you can, when you can. Give time, give money, give space. If you have none of these, give emotional support to rescuers.
Rescue isn't about giving until it hurts. Rescue is about trying to stop the hurting.
If everyone gives a little, no one has to give more than they are able.
